Mechanical Presses

Transfer Press – Multiple transfer press

Mechanical presses that are mainly used as multiple-die presses are characterized by a cam-driven ram. The specific cam contour enables a dwell time in the DCs (dead centers). In addition, our specially adapted design of the cams enable in combination of the weight of the upper tool a unique vibration reduced machine operation without the need of a complex weight compensation system.

This drive provides optimal preconditions for tooling technologies in parallel operations in the fields of blanking, drawing or trimming. The modular press design makes it possible to easily implement the technical parameters as required in the specific case of application.

These presses are equipped with servo strip feeding systems of various designs and mechanical or servo-transfer systems. The die carrier system, also known as die set, that accompanies the press is specifically customized for the user’s requirements.

All press designs are designed for a specific ram stroke per customer specification as well as specific sizing according to customer needs.

Cupping Systems

Our unique cupper (cupping system) is a mechanical press designed to shape extra wide metal blanks into multiple shell, cup-like components through a process known as cupping. The press uses mechanical energy to cut (blanking) and force a metal sheet or blank into a die, where it is shaped into a “cup” form (cupping).

How it works:

Blanking

A flat metal sheet is cut into a circular or oval blank.

Cupping Process

The blank is positioned on the die. The mechanical press drives a punch down onto the blank, pressing it into the die cavity to form a cup shape. The force applied is controlled by the mechanical motion of the press.

Ejection

After the cup shape is formed, the press retracts, and the newly formed cup is ejected from the die.

Key Features:

High Speed

Mechanical presses can operate at high speeds, making them efficient for high-volume production – up to 2000 parts per minute

Precision

The mechanical design offers precise, repeatable control over the depth and shape of the cup.

Material Efficiency

HT-PT cuppers are designed to minimize material waste, maximizing the yield from each blank and provide the basis for any high volume production like battery cans or aerosol cans or ammunition cups
