Forming equipment since 1953 – tradition in the heart of Saxony
1953
The research institute for shaping of metals – “Forschungsinstitut für bildsame Formgebung der Metalle” — was founded in Zwickau.
1970
Forming Technology Research Center “Forschungszentrum für Umformtechnik” was merged as part of the state-owned trust “Kombinat Umformtechnik Erfurt”.
1990
Management buy-out and renaming as UTZ — forming technology center “Umformtechnisches Zentrum GmbH”.
1997
Development of the first CNC part feeding system.
2000
Relocation of the UTZ from Zwickau to Crimmitschau.
2003
Acquisition by the Heitkamp & Thumann Group and renaming as the H&T ProduktionsTechnologie GmbH.
2008
Launch of the ServoSpindlePress line
2016
Development of the modular mechanical press.
